Senior Spotlight - Hana Parker
Hana plans to attend Michigan Tech after graduation, and the thing she will miss most about high school is having fewer responsibilities. Her favorite high school memories include homecoming and football games, and she is proud to be a survivor of online learning. Her favorite class was drama. She would advise incoming freshman not to stress out over anything they can't control. Hana's favorite quote is "We have nothing to lose and a world to see." -Rainie Navarro

After graduation, Katie is planning to attend Concordia University Wisconsin to play hockey and decide what she wants to be when she grows up. She is proud to be graduating, and fondly remembers saran wrapping the senior float her junior year. Mr. Parr taught Katie's favorite class, and she will miss her visits with Ms. Ryan and attending sport games. Her advice to incoming freshmen is to watch out - it's nothing like High School Musical.
Senior Spotlight - Hunter Phillips
Hunter plans on going to college after graduation. His proudest accomplishment from high school is being the "Most Improved Player" for the wrestling team. Hunter will miss his friends, and his favorite class to attend was gym. His advice to incoming freshmen is don't fall behind, and his favorite saying is "I'll keep on saying I'm the greatest until we both believe it. Nothing's impossible."
Senior Spotlight - Claire Neeb
Claire is planning to attend Alma College and pursue a degree in Secondary Education. She is most proud of being salutatorian, as well as her participation in the National Honor Society, and her favorite class was AP World History. Her favorite high school memory is going on band trips and turning a regular bus into a party bus; she will miss her friend Caitlynn Canfield most from high school. Claire's advice to incoming freshman is while grades are important, don't forget to have fun & be a kid. Her favorite saying is "Smash the patriarchy."
Senior Spotlight - Josh Magnusson
Josh plans to attend Michigan State University in the fall. His favorite memories are classes with Mr. Groesbeck. The perfect game he pitched in high school is his proudest accomplishment. The advice he would give to incoming freshman is to do all activities/sports possible, because most of it you can't do after high school. He will miss his friends from high school most.
Senior Spotlight - Ryan Newbert
Ryan is excited for the opportunity to move out of Michigan; he plans on moving to Montana to start a business after graduation. He fondly remembers his time spent in woodshop with his friends, and his proudest high school accomplishment is learning how to turn bowls. Ryan's advice to incoming freshman is to pass their classes.
Senior Spotlight - Ivan Oswald
Ivan's favorite high school memory is making friends and his favorite class was strength training. The high school accomplishment that he is most proud of is being a part of the 2019 1st place UP football team, and the 2020 UP football Dream Team. His advice to incoming freshman is not to fail, and is favorite saying is "Stupid is as stupid does."

Cristian plans on becoming a Registered Nurse in the future, and is proud that he was able to earn his CNA in high school. Cristian's favorite class was Spanish with Mr. Whitehouse, and his favorite high school memory is playing basketball in the gym during lunch. He will miss being around his friends. Cristian's advice to incoming freshmen is to "Make the most out of these next four years, because they'll go by faster than you know."

Ty plans on attending college after graduation. His favorite class was woodshop, and his proudest accomplishment during high school was building a blind in this class. His favorite memory of high school is going on the trip to Detroit, and his advice to incoming freshmen is to get help with college.

Amy's plans for after high school include attending Northern Michigan University to study Radiology. She is proud of being on honor roll all four years of her high school career, and advises incoming freshmen to respect their teachers and stay focused on their goals. Amy will miss being close to home and her loved ones, and her favorite memory from high school is thinking that quarantine would only last for two weeks. Her favorite high school lass was Art, and her favorite quote is "It always seems impossible until it's done." -Nelson Mandela

Lexi plans to attend college and pursue a degree in Musical Theater. Her favorite high school class was band, and her favorite memory is singing at the Queen's Assembly. She is proud of the hard work and dedication she showed to graduate on time, and she advises incoming freshmen not to slack off during their freshman year - you WILL regret it. Lexi will miss seeing her friends every day, and her favorite quote comes from Walt Disney: "Keep moving forward."

Brayden plans to attend Ferris State University in the fall to pursue a degree in Communications. His proudest high school accomplishment is winning the conference game in basketball, and he fondly remembers all the crazy bus rides back after games. Brayden will miss his friends from high school most, and his favorite class was woodshop. His advice to incoming freshmen is "the nicer you are to your teachers, the nicer they are to you." Brayden's favorite quote is by Mallory Hopkins: "Life is short - smile while you still have teeth!"

After graduation, Sophy plans to go to college, have fun, learn lots, and try to make the world a better place. Sophy's favorite high school memory is getting a 5 on her AP World History exam, and her proudest accomplishment is being co-valedictorian. Sophy will miss laughing until her stomach hurts because of the boys in class; her favorite classes include anything taught by Mr. Griffis or Mr. Whitehouse. Sophy advises incoming freshmen to have fun & enjoy high school.
Senior Spotlight - Nicholas Manty
Nick is planning to attend Michigan Technological University for Mechanical Engineering. His favorite high school memory is meeting Travis Pastrand, and his favorite class was band. The high school accomplishment he is most proud of is being invited the go to France and represent the U.S. in Amiens. He will miss his friends most from high school, and his advice to incoming freshman is: it's never too early to plan for the future. After graduating from high school, Taylor plans to graduate from Northern Michigan University and become a Michigan State Trooper. She is proud of her accomplishment of job training with the sheriff's department, and her favorite class at the school was band. Taylor's favorite memories of high school include hanging out with friends and driving around, and she will miss her teachers and friends. Her advice to incoming freshman is to do your work and get it turned in on time and her favorite quote is "An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward; so when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great." -Paulo Coelho
Senior Spotlight - Annette Pedrin
Annette's plans after graduation include going to college to study cosmetology and spend the rest of her life doing what she loves. She fondly remembers the band picnic, as well as all her band trips, concerts, and events; band was her favorite class. Her advice to incoming freshmen is to take chances, do new things, and have fun - even if you're unsure of something, a good memory is better to look back on than the regret of not making that memory. Annette will miss seeing her close friends daily, as well as her "band family" - one of the perks of being a part of a small band. Her favorite quote is from Johnny Depp: "Laugh as much as you breathe, and love as long as you live."

Perry's future plans include going to college, joining the Reserve Officers' Training Corps, and becoming a member of the Air Force Special Forces. His favorite high school memory is hanging out in the Robotics room with the team, and his favorite class was A.P. World History with Mr. Griffis. The high school accomplishment he is most proud of is "starting from absolute zero" and working hard over the next three years. His advice to incoming freshman is to just keep moving on, and his favorite saying is "Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one." -Marcus Aurelius

Abby's future plans are to go to college, be a lawyer, marry a nice man, and have some cute babies. Her proudest high school accomplishment is winning the Starr Scholarship and being co-valedictorian, and she loved all her classes with Mr. Griffis and Chemistry with Ms. Martin. Abby's advice to incoming freshmen is "This is not a 2000's high school movie - it's not cool to be mean or not do your work." She will miss Taboo Tuesday with Mrs. Gagnon, seeing Mr. Whitehouse & Mr. Griffis everyday, and having therapy sessions with Ms. Martin. Abby's favorite quote is "Your value doesn't decrease based on someone else's inability to see your worth." -Zig Ziglar
