Did you know April is National Poetry Month? For the past few weeks our second graders have been reading and writing different types of poetry. Today they shared all of their hard work with their families, friends, and building staff during a "Poetry Cafe". ✏️📖 🎉
Senior Spotlight: Sierra Salter
After graduation, Sierra is planning to attend Delta College for early childhood education. Her favorite high school memory is climbing on everything I'm not supposed to and her favorite classes were taught by Mr. Parr. Sierra's favorite TV show is Friends and she couldn't live without her dog. She would advise incoming freshman to "Don't be dumb but have fun." She will miss bothering Ms. Palmer and Mr. Parr.
Senior Spotlight: Lorna Hogue
After she graduates, Lorna is planning to attend Ferris State University to obtain a degree in nursing. She is going to miss going to Mrs. Evans' class and spending 5th hour there. Her favorite high school memory is gym class with Ms. Ryan and Mr. Parr's class, of course! Lorna's favorite quote is "'cause sometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand" from Carrie Underwood.

Great family event.
When Wacky Wednesday says that teachers should dress like the kids, we like to play along! There were a lot of good laughs (at the teachers expense)! 😂
TAS at the Grand Valley Education Career Fair.
Senior Spotlight: Rayne Palmer
Rayne's after graduation plans include going to college, travelling, and painting. She is going to miss seeing her friends and teachers every day. Her favorite class at Newberry High School was band. Rayne's favorite movie is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, and she couldn't live without books.
Mrs. Curley's class had some fun in the big gym & "math & movement" in the classroom!
Happy Administrative Assistance Day to Jane Freeborn, Deb Canfield and Kayla Hoder. We appreciate all you do for everyone. Have a great day!!!!!
Senior Spotlight: Alexandre Aguiar
Alexandre is planning to return to Brazil after graduation, and attend university. He is proud of the good grades he achieved, and is going to miss his friends and sports. Basketball season is his favorite high school memory, and biology was his favorite class. Alexandre's advice to incoming freshmen is "play sports, be smart."
Mrs. Welty has chosen Everett Gordon as student of the week. Everett does a great job in gym class. He enjoys participating in all the activities and does his best. He also does an excellent job with showing sportsmanship in class. He lives at home with his dad, mom, three brothers, and three dogs. He plans on starting a farm this summer with his dad. He enjoys football with the Rams being his favorite team. He has also been in youth wrestling the last two years. Good work, Everett!!!

Congratulations, Adilyn for completing the challenge! 🎉
Senior Spotlight: Azaria Jackson
After graduation, Azaria is planning to move out of state, go to college, and become a coach or personal trainer. Her favorite high school memory is going to UP finals, and she's proud that she made it on Queen's court. Azaria is going to miss the ease of passing classes and strength training, her favorite class. She couldn't live without God, and her favorite quote is Psalms 46:1: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
